ISSA President Award for Excellence, Sports overview video and numerous bids help Byrne & Jones swing into spring.

Trusted provider of commercial construction services in St. Louis and the Midwest ramps up for busy season.

The innovative solutions developed by Microsurfacing Contractors, LLC for their work done on IDOT Project No. 149  in Madison County, Illinois earned the company the Presidents Award for Excellence at the International Slurry Seal Association Annual Meeting in Indian Wells, California. The award was established to recognize contracting achievements that best exemplify the highest quality of workmanship and materials, and conformance to best practices as defined by the International Slurry Seal Association.

Microsurfacing Contractors was able to shut down an interstate highway that services over 50,000 vehicles per day with a detour plan that was easy to follow, with no major traffic backups or incidents – successful even on a busy August weekend with people traveling into town to view the total eclipse.  Originally planned to occur over 5 weekends, they were able to complete the full project over the course of 2 weekends instead, with zero accidents or safety violations.

"The award represents the kind of work ethic that Microsurfacing Contractors brings to every project," said Brett Gaither of Byrne & Jones Companies.  "They always work to exceed expectations delivering a total team effort."

(Indian Wells, CA) Brett Gaither of Byrne & Jones Companies was on hand to accept the ISSA President Award for Excellence on behalf of Microsurfacing Contractors, LLC.

That total team effort is on display in a new overview video for Byrne & Jones Sports that showcases some of the many synthetic turf fields, running tracks and overall sports facilities that have been developed by working as partners with the clients they serve.

In the video, company president Bob Byrne talks of the commitment Byrne & Jones brings to every project. "We do not have a successful project unless the customer is happy," said Byrne.

Spring is always one of the busiest times of the year as all divisions ramp up their schedules. Currently, Byrne & Jones Sports has more than 20 projects going on throughout the Midwest.

The concrete and asphalt divisions of Byrne & Jones are also on a fast track. "Now that winter is behind us, schools, companies, neighborhoods and local government organizations are all looking at their parking lots and roadways, knowing there is work to be done," said Gaither. "Since we have our own equipment and more than 40 years of asphalt paving history, we certainly know what it takes to get the job done right," Gaither added.

Some schools and government organizations are taking advantage of the fact that Byrne & Jones Construction is a thoroughly vetted vendor that has won statewide contracts involving asphalt, concrete, synthetic turf and running tracks through cooperative purchasing agreements. Cooperative purchasing has great time and money-saving implications.

"Whether it's through our cooperative purchasing agreements or via direct contact, when the weather warms up, so does our activity," said Gaither. "Just pick up the phone and give us a call."
