A Full-Depth Reclamation Contractor

Full-depth reclamation (FDR) is a pavement rehabilitation method that involves grinding and mixing the existing asphalt concrete and base material to create a new, stable base for a new asphalt layer. Byrne & Jones Construction performs this process on both asphalt and concrete pavements and is typically done in place, without the need for excavation or hauling of materials.

What are the benefits Full-Depth Reclamation?

Cost Savings

FDR is often more cost-effective than traditional reconstruction methods, as it eliminates the need for excavation and hauling of materials. Additionally, since the existing pavement is being recycled, there is no need to purchase new materials.

6

Improved Ride Quality

FDR can result in a smoother and more consistent surface for vehicles, which can improve the ride quality for drivers and passengers.

6

Improve Pavement Structure

The grinding and mixing process of FDR creates a more homogeneous and stable base for the new asphalt layer, which can improve the overall strength and durability of the pavement.

7

Reduced Traffic Disruptions

FDR can be performed more quickly than traditional reconstruction methods, which can reduce the amount of time that roads are closed and traffic is disrupted. Additionally, since the existing pavement is being recycled in place, there is no need to haul materials to and from the job site, which can further reduce traffic disruptions

7

Reduce Environmental Impact

FDR reduces the amount of waste generated during pavement rehabilitation, as the existing material is being reused. This can also reduce the carbon footprint associated with transportation of materials to and from the job site.
